Application
• Bisphenol S has excellent heat resistance, light resistance and oxidation resistance, and is widely used as an important intermediate in the fields of medicine, pesticide, dye, auxiliary, aviation, aerospace, electrical and electronic, machinery, agriculture etc. It’s mainly used as dye fixing agent, silver plating additive, high temperature dyeing dispersing agent, and also used in the manufacture of color photographic photosensitive materials, photographic phase contrast enhancers, heat-sensitive recording materials (color developer), electroplating additives, color formers for pressure-sensitive materials, daily surfactants and high-efficiency deodorants.
• Bisphenol S can be used to synthesize a series of arylsulfone bridged leather agents with excellent properties. It’s used as raw materials for polycarbonate, epoxy resin, polyester resin, polysulfone and polyethersulfone, and can also be added as an additive to a variety of resins to improve their properties. The thermotropic copolyester liquid crystal produced with bisphenol S as raw material has excellent thermal properties and mechanical processing properties.
• The reaction between bisphenol S and bromine can synthesize flame retardant tetrabromobisphenol S and its derivatives, which can be used to replace the currently larger amount usage of tetrabromobisphenol A, for the synthesis of flame retardant epoxy resin, polyester resin and polycarbonate, etc. It can also be added to polyethylene, polypropylene, high impact polystyrene and other plastics to get excellent flame retardant properties.
